About Me

How do you start a good bio? Do you start with humble beginnings, highest level of education, most recent achievements, or a snarky joke about writing a bio? I don’t know the best way. This is an opportunity to make myself shine, but in all honesty it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It isn’t that I don’t think I have any accomplishments it is always just that I don’t know which ones are most important. But then is it about accomplishment or roles, because that is often how we define who we are. The About Me section is the perfect place to explain the roles I have always filled in life. But isn’t identity about more than that. It might then be easier to start with what I believe.

I believe that we have an opportunity. We have an opportunity to come together, to build a better world, and love stronger. That is why I choose to fill the roles I choose to fill like, minister, student, husband, parent, music enthusiast, gardener, and mystic.

But there are other roles I don’t care for so much. I fill those roles out of fear. I suppose that is part of the reason I write, it helps me delve deeper into who I am, it helps me better understand my fear and stop filling the roles I don’t much care for.

But then life is never really that dualistic is it? Sometimes those roles, the ones I fear, are the most important ones I fill. Shades of gray, in the end there are always so many shades of gray.

What you will find on this are the words in my head, I have always been told I write like I preach, so I hope it isn’t too cumbersome for you, but I do hope you enjoy. I write about spirituality and life, at least the way I see things. As an ordained minister in the Unitarian Universalist faith you might find some interesting things. You never know what your going to find here, and I’m still baking…

Hope you enjoy it,

Justin
